It is not too long ago that there were whispers that Brighton were confident of securing a £100million fee when they eventually decided to sell Evan Ferguson. The Irishman made a blistering start to his Premier League career, earning a huge amount of plaudits for his performances. When he scored his first hat-trick in the division in September of 2023, it was suggested that his club were already eyeing up the fee they would recoup for him in the future.Since then, things have not gone to plan for the Ireland striker.Ferguson would suffer a number of injury issues, missing a considerable chunk of time as a result. He would then struggle to get back into the Brighton side when he returned, eventually being loaned to West Ham back in January. Unfortunately, he would never manage to nail down a place at the London Stadium either. While it was assumed that Brighton would look to loan the striker out once again this summer, it has now been suggested that a sale could be possible.READ ALSO: The 10 Most Valuable Irish Footballers In The Game At The MomentRecommendedREAD ALSO: English-Born Forward Set To Make Republic Of Ireland International SwitchBrighton Reportedly Willing To Sell Evan Ferguson For Surprisingly Low FeeFootball Insider are reporting that Brighton are keen to sell Evan Ferguson this summer. What's more, they are thought to be willing to do business at a knockdown fee of around £28million.It is said that the likes of Nottingham Forest, Fulham, and Everton are all interested in the 20-year old. The Meath man is also likely to draw interest from a number of European clubs.Brighton reportedly being willing to accept a fee of that nature shows just how much Evan Ferguson's stick has fallen in recent times, with such a deal almost unthinkable just 18 months ago.It remains to be seen if a deal will be struck, but it is likely that quite a few clubs would be willing to gamble on the player if a transfer could be agreed for less than £30million.Such a fee would still represent a record amount for an Irish player, overtaking the £23million mark set by Nathan Collins when he moved to Brentford in 2023.Still just 20-years old, Ferguson still possesses a huge amount of potential. Consistent playing may be all that is needed for the player to get his career back on track. It will be interesting to see what suitors emerge over the coming weeks, with it looking increasingly likely that the youngster's future lies away from Brighton.
