I’m going off when I signed for United and he was so good. I used to hate playing against him in training,” Jones said.“He was one of those frustrating players in a five-a-side, he was so good, so good.”Phil Jones’ record alongside NaniJones hailed Nani as one of the best he’s ever played with, and the stats suggest that these two were part of a brilliant team together.Indeed, Jones and Nani played 51 games together throughout their careers, and, more often than not, they were on the winning team.Unfortunately, Nani would leave United in 2014, while Jones’ career would be curtailed by injuries.Nani finally retired from football in 2024, while Phil Jones’ career came to an end in 2023 at the age of just 31 owing to numerous injury issues that plagued him in the latter half of his career.Jones’ career may have been cut short, but in that short time, he played with some true legends of the game.
