Elena Rybakina suggests what she thought of Emma Raducanu's performance after knocking her out of the US Open

Emma Raducanu’s US Open campaign has ended in the third round after suffering a heavy defeat to Elena Rybakina in straight sets.

The Briton was beaten 6-1, 6-2 by the former Wimbledon champion, who put on a dominant display at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Rybakina clinched her 44th win of 2025 and is now through to the round of 16 at Flushing Meadows for the first time in her career.

After her impressive triumph, the Kazakh star reacted to her performance and took a moment to acknowledge Raducanu‘s efforts in New York.

In her on-court interview, the ninth seed said: “[I’m] really happy with the performance. It’s not always easy to play against Emma, even if sometimes the score doesn’t show it.

“She is a tough competitor. I am really happy with the way I played today and looking forward to the next match.”

The 26-year-old has now reached the fourth round or better at every Grand Slam on the WTA Tour.

She said of the feat: “It’s true, throughout the whole years, for some reason the US Open wasn’t really successful for me, so hopefully this year it will change.

“Really happy that now I am going through, and hopefully I can go as far as possible.”
