Patten wins second title of the seasonBritain’s Henry Patten captured his sixth ATP trophy last week, teaming up with Finland’s Harri Heliovaara to win the ATP 500 China Open doubles title in Beijing.The pair battled past singles stars Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov in a tense final, coming from a set down to triumph 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.The victory marks Patten’s latest success in an impressive 2025 campaign that already includes the Australian Open title and cements the duo’s place among the world’s top doubles teams.Having not dropped a set until the final, Patten and Heliovaara showed poise under pressure, winning three straight points in the deciding match tie-break to seal the crown.With this win, the British-Finnish duo have also secured qualification for the Nitto ATP Finals. Patten is one of five British players confirmed for this year's event in Turin.Sonay Kartal also had a breakthrough run in the WTA 1000 women's singles event in Beijing, making it all the qway to the quarter-finals.The young Brit knocked out 14th seed Daria Kasatkina and claimed a career-best win over world No.5 Mirra Andreeva, before losing out to eventual runner-up Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-4 in the quarters.British quartet reach Challenger finalsHarriet Dart and Maia Lumsden continued their good form in Tunisia last week – reaching the final of the Sumsun Challenger.In their second consecutive WTA 125 final together, top seeds Dart and Lumsden narrowly lost to Naima Karamoko and Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah 7-5, 1-6, 10-6.Dart has reached a final in each of the last three weeks – previously winning the singles title at the W35 Monastir and the doubles trophy at the Full Protein Caldas da Rainha Ladies Open.Hamish Stewart and Harry Wendelken also finished runners-up in the final of the Mouilleron-Le-Captif Challenger in France.The Brits came into the tournament unseeded but fought their way to the final before losing out to second seeds Gregorie Jacq and Albano Olivetti 7-6(5), 6-3.Elsewhere, Madeline Brooks made the semi-final of the Rende Challenger alongside Amina Anshba.Miyazaki & Stojsavljevic star on the ITF TourLily Miyazaki took home the biggest title on the ITF World Tennis Tour last week – winning the W75 Bratislava with Czech Republic star Lucie Havlickova.Miyazaki and Havlickova saved two match points to beat top seeds Martyna Kubka and Aneta Laboutkova 3-6, 6-3, 11-9 in the final.For 29-year-old Miyazaki, it’s a first title of the season and the biggest doubles trophy of her career so far.Mika Stojsavljevic enjoyed a fantastic week at the W35 Monastir, making the final of both the singles and doubles event.The former junior US Open champion lost out to fourth seed Vendula Valdmannova 6-1, 6-1 in the singles final, but came through with the victory in the doubles.Stojsavljevic teamed up with Valdmannova to take home her first professional doubles title – beating fellow Brit Lauryn John Baptiste and Sandra Samir 6-4, 6-4.British partnership James MacKinlay and Connor Thomson clinched the M25 Sharm El Sheikh doubles title over the weekend.MacKinlay and Thomson saved five break points in the second set to come back and defeat fourth seeds Sergey Betov and Daniil Ostapenkov 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-8 in the final.This marks their third doubles title together this season – two coming in Sharm El Sheikh and the other at the M25 Roehampton.17-year-old Brooke Black reached the final of the W35 Darwin doubles event with Japan’s Reina Goto – finishing runners-up to Monique Barry and Gabriella da Silva Fick 6-3, 6-7(7).Lapthorne claims French Riviera Open titleAndy Lapthorne retained his quad doubles title at the ITF Super Series French Riveria Open with Australian Heath Davidson.Lapthorne and Davidson sealed their first trophy together as a partnership with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Chile’s Francisco Cayulef and Argentina’s Gonzalo Lazarte.The British No.1 has now won 15 Super Series titles in his career – the highest level of wheelchair tennis events outside of the Grand Slams.
