'Quick turnaround a good thing after England loss'

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt on being asked to bowl first: "I don't mind too much. It will be a hard wicket to defend later under lights."

On their crushing defeat by England in their opener: "We took our learnings but put it behind as quickly as we good. A quick turnaround but I think that is a good thing."

'We will need to be at our best'

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine, whose side were beaten by Australia on this pitch in their opener: "It is a pretty good surface. Even in our last game here I don't think it changed too much. We are looking forward to putting a big total on the board.

"The batters are really excited to go out there today and make sure they stamp their mark. South Africa's bowling line-up is so threatening. We will need to be at our best.

Whisper it but this already has the feel of a big game.

Yes, it's early - very early - but both came into the tournament with high hopes and were beaten in their opening games. New Zealand were outdone by Australia and South Africa thrashed by England.

There's a long way to go, perhaps too long for me to be talking like this, but with England, India and Australia starting well these two will both want to get one over another rivals in the race for a top-four finish.
