The queens of Europe will be crowned on Sunday (27 July), but will it be England or Spain who emerge triumphant at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025?

Four weeks of women’s continental football culminate this weekend in Switzerland, where the reigning European champions and world champions respectively face off at Basel’s St. Jakob-Park.

Spain have been flawless with five victories from five at EURO 2025, a 100 per cent win record in Switzerland – in fact, La Roja have won as many matches at the 2025 edition as they had in their entire previous history in four appearances at the continental competition.

Defending champions England recovered from an opening defeat to France, where finishing second in Group D meant avoiding Spain and Germany early on. The Lionesses are aiming to become the first back-to-back European champions since the Germans in 2013.

Ahead of their tantalising final on the banks of the Rhine, here are the key storylines to look out for between Monte Tomé’s Spain and Sarina Wiegman’s England.
