Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has reportedly requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to grant him leave for his wedding after the ongoing first Test against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He could possibly miss the upcoming second Test, as well as the three-match ODI series against the Proteas.

According to a report by the Times of India, the wrist spinner is waiting for his leave to be approved by the governing body, as he has planned his wedding for the last week of November.

“Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of Nov. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of leaves,” a BCCI source told the Times of India.

Kuldeep Yadav, who was engaged earlier this year in June, has been involved with India across all formats in recent months. He was selected for the England tour, the home series against the West Indies, the Australia white-ball tour, and now the South Africa assignment as well.

The schedule does not relent going forward as well since India have important assignments scheduled against New Zealand, followed by the 2026 T20 World Cup.

"The wedding will be finalised on an auspicious date, probably in November" - Kuldeep Yadav's coach

Kuldeep Yadav's coach, Kapil Pandey, had revealed during the engagement ceremony that the wedding is likely to be conducted in November after a brief postponement.

“The IPL has just ended and the England tour will start soon, so players couldn’t join. The wedding will be finalised on an auspicious date, probably in November. A starry turnout is expected," Kapil Pandey told the Hindustan Times in June.

The second Test between India and South Africa is scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 22, at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The three-match ODI series, on the other hand, will be conducted between November 30 and December 6, before the five-match T20I series.
