Sources close to Man City gem Claudio Echeverri have now come up with a plan about his future this summer

Claudio Echeverri is one of the most exciting youngsters at Manchester City’s disposal.

Pep Guardiola described Echeverri as an “incredible player” and at 19 years of age, it’s safe to say that he has the potential to become a top player at City.

This summer, the Argentine has been linked with several loan moves.

Roma are keen on signing Echeverri on loan.

However, Manchester City’s sister club Girona are eyeing Echeverri’s signature on a temporary basis this summer as well.

Sources close to Claudio Echeverri believe he should go on loan

In the past, wonderkids like Claudio Echeverri such as Phil Foden and Cole Palmer have not been sent on loan by City and instead, instructed to train with the first-team and play in cup competitions for the most part.

However, Echeverri wants to play Champions League football or even in the Europa League on a frequent basis next season.

The Athletic have revealed that sources close to the 19-year-old believe it is necessary for the Manchester City midfielder to go on loan to play regular football instead of playing for Girona.

City are believed to rate Echeverri highly behind the scenes and his camp are aiming for a place in Argentina’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

In the past, young players at City have benefited from going on loan, such as Oleksandr Zinchenko when he played for PSV Eindhoven or James McAtee when he spent two seasons at Sheffield United.

The report mentions that Echeverri’s preference is to sign for a Premier League club on loan.

Considering Manchester City intended to loan Echeverri out to Girona, it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
