Alejandro Garnacho deactivated one of his social media accounts just hours before Manchester United played Liverpool.

Garnacho, 20, left followers puzzled when the @agarnacho7 account on X, formerly Twitter, suddenly disappeared, leading to an error message when searching for it. The player previously interacted with fans on the platform.

While his presence on X is no more, Garnacho maintains an active Instagram profile. Now with a bio that reads "NO TWITTER" accompanied by a red cross emoji.

Garnacho was dropped from the United squad alongside Marcus Rashford for the Manchester derby last month. That decision from Ruben Amorim reportedly came following an alleged incident of disrespect towards the head coach during a Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen.

Garnacho is said to have turned his back on Amorim while being briefed on tactics. However, sources close to Garnacho have dismissed any talk of a rift, attributing the situation to a misunderstanding. Some fans might interpret Garnacho's social media exit as a statement of his commitment to concentrate on football.

Graeme Souness recently criticised the winger, claiming he "acts like a wrong 'un'" and has "no chance of fulfilling" his potential at Old Trafford. In his column for the Daily Mail, Souness wrote: "I hear about Alejandro Garnacho being unhappy with the manager. Can someone remind me of just who he is?

"The last time I looked, he was only a 20-year-old boy. One who is only one step up on a ten-rung ladder.

"Who are you? He acts like a 'wrong 'un' on the football pitch, and unless he changes, he's got no chance of fulfilling what obvious potential he has."
