Anton Stach shares what he's seen involving Leeds United that he thinks is absolutely 'crazy'

Leeds United have announced the signing of Anton Stach from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

Stach has joined Leeds United on a four-year contract after the Whites agreed a deal with Hoffenheim reportedly worth around £17million.

The Germany international defender becomes Leeds’ sixth summer signing as Daniel Farke continues to strengthen the club’s ranks ahead of their Premier League return.

Stach spoke to the Leeds media team after joining the club and he shared what he saw about the club online that he thinks is absolutely “crazy”.

Anton Stach wowed by Leeds United’s ‘crazy’ promotion celebrations

Leeds are known across the football world for having an incredibly passionate fanbase and Stach spoke about this in his interview.

The German explained how he saw videos of last season’s promotion parade and how they blew his mind.

“The biggest target is to stay in the league and personally just develop, adapt to the league, to the speed of course and then get many good experiences hopefully,” Stach said, as per the Leeds website.

“I am really excited to play at home with the fans because I think the fans are really good here and as well away.

“I want to feel the atmosphere because I heard and I saw so many videos of the fans, the promotion [parade] last year over 150,000 people in the city.

“I think that is awesome. That is crazy when the team has a connection to the city. And I think then when you have fans like this, the fans get you some points as well in the league.”

How Anton Stach’s father once embarrassed Roger Federer

Stach will look to make a name for himself in the Premier League, having already made a name for himself in the Bundesliga.

Interestingly, Stach’s father is a famous individual in his own right, and he once made headlines in the UK for how he embarrassed Roger Federer on a tennis court.

Matthias Stach is one of Germany’s most famous sports commentators. Indeed, he is known as the ‘voice of tennis’ in his home country.

In 2015, Stach – a ranked tennis player in Germany earlier in his career – enjoyed a rally with Federer after his win against Florian Mayer at ATP Halle.

‘Stach not only managed to hold a rally with the Swiss legend, but also to show him up with a very cheeky between-the-legs passing shot which left his opponent stunned,’ TNT Sports reported at the time.

‘Federer dropped down in laughter after he was comprehensively beaten in the rally, with Stach having to hold his hand up to jokingly apologise after celebrating the showboat.’
