Liverpool were one of the most dominant teams in the Premier League last season, with Arne Slot managing to bring the Premier League title back to Anfield.Hardly anyone expected the Reds to be as dominant as they were last term, with most believing that it would take them a couple of years to get over the departure of Jurgen Klopp.Instead, things couldn’t have gone better, and players such as Ryan Gravenberch proved they had what it takes to become a valuable member of Liverpool’s first-team squad.Of course, some new players for priority positions have been brought in, but as Slot has spent close to £200million, the Anfield outfit are going to have to think about selling some of their players soon.Photo by Carl Recine/Getty ImagesSeveral members of the Reds’ team have already been linked with an exit; however, there’s one in particular that has the fanbase divided.Micah Richards believes Liverpool should keep Harvey Elliott this summerHarvey Elliott has been a hot topic over the last week or so after his heroics for England in the Under-21 Euros. The Englishman’s performances have piqued the interest of several Premier League teams, such as Tottenham, with a fee between £40 – £50million required to prise him away from Merseyside. And, speaking on The Rest is Football Podcast, Micah Richards and Gary Lineker shared their thoughts on what Liverpool should do with the 22-year-old this summer.MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES“If I’m Liverpool, I’m not selling him. Not one bit. I’m not selling him,” Richards said.“It reminds me of the Cole Palmer situation when he was at Manchester City. Okay, you’ve got Phil Foden, you’ve got Kevin De Bruyne at the time, you’ve got other young players coming through.“I just think if you could get a good Premier League team on loan for the season, because we keep talking about Salah, Salah signed a two-year deal.“A year from now, he [Salah] could be, I don’t want to say winding down, but might not be the same player that we used to over the years. And he [Elliott] could play that position so well. I would just wait.“I wouldn’t get rid of him right now. Not a chance.”Lineker then gave his verdict on the situation and said: “I wouldn’t disagree with that at all.”Liverpool should try and get a buy-back clause if they sell Harvey Elliott this summerAlthough Liverpool’s fanbase are split between whether they should or shouldn’t sell Elliott, at the moment, it feels like he’s more out than in.Slot has recently welcomed Florian Wirtz to Liverpool for a club-record fee, and the fact that they already have Dominik Szoboszlai among their ranks means that Elliott is now their third-choice attacking midfielder.Indeed, he can also play on the right wing, but with Federico Chiesa among their ranks already and Rio Ngumoha seen as the next big thing, it’s unlikely that he’ll get much playing time there either. With this in mind, it feels like Liverpool may be forced to sell the midfielder this summer.Photo by Liverpool FC/Liverpool FC via Getty ImagesHowever, if they do end up sanctioning his exit, Slot and Richard Hughes must find a way to insert a buy-back clause into the deal, similar to what they’ve done with Jarell Quansah.Although no concrete moves have yet been made, with the form he’s shown over the last few weeks, it feels unlikely that there will be a shortage of suitors for the young Englishman this summer.
