Alejandro Garnacho has been given a stark warning to prioritise his football over disagreements with his boss.

The 20-year-old is expected to leave Manchester United this summer after reportedly being told he can seek a new club. The situation surrounding the young winger has become more intense amidst claims of a fallout with United head coach Ruben Amorim at the end of the season.

Napoli had a £40million bid for the player rejected in January, highlighting his value to the club. However, it's thought a £70m approach would be enough to secure his exit.

As Garnacho inches closer to leaving Old Trafford, former Liverpool forward Dean Saunders explained how he had heard about disagreements between the player and Amorim, as they were said to have rowed about tactics at United's training ground.

The former Wrexham and Wolves boss criticised the player's choice to confront his head coach, while also expressing admiration for his playing ability. However, Garnacho's character is something that certainly bothers Saunders.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Saunders said: "I like him as a player. He plays with his heart on his sleeve, and there's a load of them who don't at Man United. But from a good source, I heard he's arguing with the manager on the training pitch about tactics. How old is he, 20? Just get on with it."

The focus at United this summer is very much on making squad improvements, with Amorim already welcoming Matheus Cunha in a £62.5million deal. Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is also very much being hunted, despite Thomas Frank's desire to lure him to Tottenham.

Saunders has warned United that focusing on players' mentalities is key when making future signings, following Amorim's well-publicised rows with Garnacho and Marcus Rashford this season.

He added: "Man United have signed bad characters, and you've got to start signing good characters. Forget the talent. Obviously, you've got to have a certain amount to play at the level you're at, but they've got to concentrate on signing good characters, because they're shambolic at the moment."

Garnacho has expressed a desire to remain in the UK if he leaves United this summer. Chelsea are understood to be leading the chase, with Arsenal and Aston Villa among the others reportedly interested.

His former club Atletico Madrid are also eyeing a move, alongside Bayer Leverkusen, who recently appointed Erik ten Hag as their new manager. Any transfer fee for Garnacho would mean pure profit for United as a result of his status as a homegrown talent.
