India will look to avoid a series whitewash when they face Australia in the third and final One-Day International match on Saturday.

Australia extended their lead to 2-0 in the series with another dominant 2-wicket victory in the second match at Adelaide. Chasing 265 under lights, Matt Short (74) and Cooper Connolly (unbeaten 61) brought their respective half-centuries to seal a comfortable victory. While the focus remains on these two all-rounders, Adam Zampa was a silent hero with his four-wicket haul.

Australia vs. India 3rd ODI predicted XIs, team news

Josh Inglis, who missed the first two matches in the series due to a calf strain, has been added to the squad for the final match. Both wicket-keeper batters, Josh Philippe and Alex Carey, have retained their respective places, but Carey remains the first-choice wicket-keeper to start in the starting XI.

Marnus Labuschagne, who was added to the ODI squad for the first two games in place of injured Cameron Green, has been omitted from the squad ahead of the final game in Sydney on Saturday to prepare for Queensland's Sheffield Shield clash against New South Wales.

NSW all-rounder Jack Edwards has received his maiden international squad after being added to Australia's ODI side for the final match, while spinner Matthew Kuhnemann also has been recalled for the Sydney game.

Both Mitchell Owen and Cooper Connolly have been excellent with their performance in the ongoing series; they will continue to start in the final XI. As Josh Inglis is fit to start, he is likely to replace first-match debutant Matthew Renshaw in Sydney.

On the bowling front, the Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood duo will continue to spearhead the attack along with Xavier Bartlett, whereas Zampa will lead the spin department.

Xavier Bartlett was added to the starting XI at Adelaide Oval in place of Nathan Ellis. The 26-year-old pacer delivered an impressive spell, scalping three crucial wickets.

Australia predicted XI: Mitch Marsh (c), Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw/Josh Inglis, Matthew Short, Alex Carey (wk), Mitch Owen, Cooper Connolly, Mitchell Starc, Xavier Bartlett, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa.

Another defeat in Sydney will mean a heartbreaking series whitewash for the Shubman Gill-led side. He will look to bring some changes to the starting XI and aim for a consolation victory on Saturday.

Virat Kohli was dismissed for the second consecutive duck in the series. It was a rare moment in Kohli's career. While he is still in search of his batting rhythm, the former Indian skipper will bring his best in Sydney to cement his spot in the playing XI.

Rohit Sharma, who couldn't start well at Perth, learned from his mistakes and converted his score into an excellent half-century at a tough surface like Adelaide Oval. All-rounder Axar Patel has been impressive in the series; he seems like a perfect replacement for Ravindra Jadeja for the future.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar continued to be in the starting XI, but both haven't been so impressive lately in the format. While India is focusing more on its batting depth with three all-rounders in the team, they must have felt the absence of their star spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Mohammed Siraj spearheaded the bowling attack along with Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana in the second match as well. One of Arshdeep or Rana is likely to be replaced by Prasidh Krishna in Sydney.

India predicted XI: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (c), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy/Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.
