Alex de Minaur is yet to play his second-round match, but two of his potential seeded opponents in the last 16 bowed out on Friday.

Ninth-seeded Karen Khachanov lost to Pole Kamil Majchrzak in a fifth-set match tie-breaker, while 435th-ranked Swiss qualifier Leandro Riedi came from two sets down to upset No.19 seed Francisco Cerundolo 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.

De Minaur meets Japanese qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki later on Friday, and if he wins that match he will face the winner between Greek 26th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and German Daniel Altmaier.

Tsitsipas has endured a horror season, but has won 11 of his 12 clashes with de Minaur.
