Garnacho is said only to want Chelsea, who previously showed interest in the player when the winter window was open. The Blues have already added Estevao Willian, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro to their squad this summer, with Geovany Quenda also arriving next year, but more additions seem likely. They reportedly are negotiating with RB Leipzig to sign Xavi Simons, pursuing both Garnacho and the Netherlands international. The journalist Fabrizio Romano claims it is a done deal for Garnacho on the player's side, with every detail purportedly agreed on personal terms. Talks between Chelsea and United on a fee are now said to be the next step that will follow soon.Romano also reiterates that the wantaway winger only wants Chelsea. He added that they are pursuing Garnacho and Simons rather than one or the other.Article continues belowRuben Amorim has already addressed why the wantaway winger is due to leave 12 months after being considered untouchable by United. "Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he's talented, a really talented boy, and sometimes things don't work out," Amorim acknowledged to journalists in Chicago earlier this month."You cannot explain specifically what it is, but I have the feeling, I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership, and I can understand that, so it's not a problem."Sometimes you adapt to one guy; you have the connection, other times, you want a new challenge, so we try to make everything OK for all the parties; to the club, to the coach and to the players; it's a natural thing in football."KICK OFF - Man United pre-season guide 2025/26 The countdown is on to the 2025/26 Premier League campaign - and our pre-season guide is the ideal way to prepare for the action ahead.
