Chelsea transfer target Xavi Simons decides who he wants to join as Blues battle Arsenal for £56m deal

Chelsea seem to have made it clear who their priority attacking signing is ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season getting underway.

The Blues have been strongly linked to the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, with insiders at the club mentioning Simons as an alternative for Morgan Rogers.

Chelsea fans are convinced Simons could be the perfect signing, with them already bringing in the likes of Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro to bolster their options for next season.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, as Simons is reportedly very keen on a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Xavi Simons chooses Chelsea move over Arsenal

However, they are not the only Premier League side who can offer Champions League football to the Dutchman that are interested in signing him.

Arsenal are also keen on making a move for the attacker, with them looking to add to the addition of Noni Madueke, who has already been unveiled.

Despite the Gunners finishing above the Blues last season, The Telegraph are reporting that the Leipzig man finds a move to Chelsea more appealing at this stage.

The two sides are not strangers to battling it out for transfers, with it looking like the Gunners are going to secure the signature of former Blues target Viktor Gyokeres.

Chelsea already have major Simons concern

Simons is not the only attacking player who has been linked with a move to Chelsea since they were crowned Club World Cup champions just over a week ago.

While he has seemingly moved to the front of the queue, the Blues still have done their homework over their potential new signing.

It has been reported that Chelsea have concerns over Simons’ attitude and professionalism, something that has also been noted by other clubs.

However, the Netherlands international provides a great opportunity, and for a fee of around £56m would not break the bank, especially with the prize money provided from their recent triumph in the United States.
