The eight-team ICC Women's ODI Cricket World Cup 2025 is scheduled from September 30 to November 2, with India and Sri Lanka co-hosting the quadrennial showpiece this time.The 2025 Women’s World Cup is the 13th edition of the 50-over cricket tournament and will feature eight teams.Co-hosts India were the first team to announce their squad, with Harmanpreet Kaur set to lead the team. Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain.Alyssa Healy will lead defending champions Australia. Sophie Molineux, who has recovered from a knee injury, is also a part of Australia’s 15-member squad.Nat Sciver-Brunt will captain England’s 15-member squad, while Heather Knight also makes a return after a tendon injury in her right hamstring had kept her on the sidelines.Sophie Devine is set to be New Zealand’s skipper at the World Cup. All Pakistan matches will be held in Colombo.All eight teams will face each other once in a round-robin format, with the top four sides after all the group matches qualifying for the semi-finals.The top-ranked team after the group stage will take on the fourth-placed side in the first semi-final, while the second and third-placed teams will square off in the other top four encounter.A total of 31 matches will be played over the course of the tournament as seven-time champions Australia look to defend their title.
