Bangladesh would have gladly taken up the target of 136 runs as they went into bat. But their plans were plundered by Shaheen and Haris Rauf, who hit them with 3 wickets inside the powerplay.

Even the runs they conceded were majorly through the top edges behind the square.

The spinners - Nawaz, Saim and Abrar complemented the pacers brilliantly, putting a chokehold on the batters. As Bangladesh lost wickets in consistent intervals, their hopes of making the final gradually faded away.

In the final few overs, the pacers came back once again, ripping the remaining batters out.

What a confidence boosting win this must be.

The dangerman Shamim loses his wicket. And that is because of Mike Hesson.

The coach came down from thre dressing room and asked Shaheen to bowl a cutter. The pacer bowls it short of length on the off stump. It is a leg cutter. Shamim was shaping up for a reverse scoop and ends up handing a simple catch to point.

Misery, misery and more misery!

Mohammad Nawaz traps Mahedi Hasan, who wanted to take the spinner down. Mahedi goes inside out to hit Nawaz for a six, and ends up handing a simple catch at cover.

Pakistan are all over Bangladesh right now.

Bangladesh need 90-odd to win this game, but they have already lost 4 wickets.

Pakistan bring their premier spinner into the attack after both fast bowlers run riot in the powerplay.

Superb start from the pacer, but Faheem Ashraf needs to support him well if Pakistan want to reach the final of the tournament.

In the previous over, Faheem bowled 6 balls on the same spot and got hit for a pick up shot by Saif Hassan in the 2nd over of the game.

Bangladesh are batting quite gingerly and probably need to show some flair.

Superb bowling. How long have the fans waited to see this! Length ball, climbs on Emon at a rapid pace. The left hander tries to glance the ball but ends up getting a top edge.

Former fast bowler Waqar Younis did not hold back in his assessment of Pakistan's batting. While Sunil Gavaskar, on air, said Pakistan would have been restricted to 120-odd runs had Bangladesh taken their catches, Waqar Younis said they wouldn't have even made 100.

While praising Bangladesh's bowling efforts, Younis questioned why Pakistan kept backing Saim Ayub when they knew the youngster was struggling. He said Saim could have used a break in the tournament.

Pakistan finished with 135 for 8 in 20 overs. Will that be enough? It was a terribly timid batting show.

Thanks to Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz's cameos, Pakistan have posted a total that their bowlers can work with.

At 55 for 5 at the end of the 12th over, Pakistan were in big trouble. However, Shaheen, who was promoted to No. 7, hit a few big ones. Mohammad Nawaz then hit 25 off 15 while Haris chipped in with a brisk 31.

It was the top-order that let them down. Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman failed to fire while Saim Ayub was dismissed for his fourth duck in five matches in this Asia Cup.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, bowled with a plan and exceuted them well. Had they taken their catches well, they would have restricted Pakistan to a smaller total.

Taskin Ahmed finishes with figures of 3 for 28. A terrific effort from one of the most-improved Bangladesh pacers in the recent past.

He began by taking the big wicket of Sahibzada Farhan and then capped it off with another crucial wicket -- of Mohammad Nawaz in his last over.

Can Pakistan get to 140?

Head coach Mike Hesson looks nervous, unsure what has hit his team—a man seemingly facing the threat of being sacked next week.

Pakistan have put on a sloppy display. Their batters never appeared comfortable, playing with evident caution and a fear of failure.

The dismissals of Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Haris, two of their key hitters, have come at the worst possible time. With wickets falling, they are running out of batters while desperately searching for a big over at the end.

Haris Rauf has now joined Faheem Ashraf at the crease.

What a sensational catch! Bangladesh are blowing hot and cold on the field. But, this one from Parvez Hossain Emon has come at the right time.

Mohammad Nawaz, after hitting a six in the first delivery of the 19th over, tries to clear the long-off boundary this time. However, he top-edges it and it flies into the night sky.

Parvez, who was running backwards, steadies himself and takes a fine catch just outside the 30-yard circle.

Pakistan are 8 down for 120 in 18.2 overs. Can they get to 140?

WICKET! It's not going Pakistan's way today, ain't it. The former champions have lost their seventh wicket. Mohammad Haris,who was looking to give them the late impetus, is out after giving Mahedi a simple return catch.

He fell for 31 off 23 balls.

It's a huge blow for Pakistan, who are not getting the late push that they are hoping for. Haris was one of the few batters, who had an idea of what was happening in the middle.

On the other hand, Mahedi is rewarded with his second wicket. He has been brilliant today.

Pakistan took 16.5 overs to reach a total of 100 runs. And that also comes with a lot of huff and puff.

Nawaz taps the ball to the left side and storms for a run. A huge mix up happens while pushing for the second run, and Haris gets saved by a whisker as the throw goes to the wrong end.

After some tremendous fielding display in the powerplay, Bangladesh have dropped a host of catches.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib runs in to bowl the first over and keeps the pressure on. The right-arm seamer gave away just six runs as Pakistan continue to look for a move on.

Pakistan captain Salman Agha finally breaks the shackles as he dances down the track against Mahedi Hasan to smash him for a boundary. Despite the boundary, just six runs came from the fourth over. Pakistan desperately need to get a move on.

Saim Ayub has been dismissed for his fourth duck of the tournament as he hits Mahedi Hasan straight to mid on. Ayub's horrendous run in the tournament continues as he fails again even after being shifted to number three. Pakistan are in deep trouble and need to get themselves out of the whole, they've buried themselves in.

Taskin Ahmed has got Bangladesh off to a terrific start as he made Sahibzada Farhan hit straight to Rishad Hossain. Bangladesh are ecstatic after the early strike as they make early inroads in the Pakistan batting by dismissing the in-form batter.

Jaker Ali: We would like to bowl first, looks a pretty dry wicket. We have been doing well while bowling first, so we are going with that strategy. As a bowling unit we have been doing well. We have to bat really well in this match. Before the tournament, we had just decided we’d go out and play for the championship, and we’ll carry the same mindset in this match. We have three changes. Saifuddin, Nasum and Tamim are not playing. Nurul, Taskin and Mahedi are in.

Salman Agha: We wanted to bat first, so it's okay. Looks a good pitch. Scoreboard pressure is the key. We have defended well after scoring 150-plus. Beating SL was always great. We want to play good cricket and execute our plans. It's always important playing any final. We want to focus on this game, want to win this game. We want to play good cricket. We are playing with the same side.

They beat Afghanistan to reach the Super 4s and beat Sri Lanka as well. Against Pakistan, they would take a lot of heart from their 2-1 series win at home in July. Pakistan will need to ensure they're at the top of their game to make it to the final and Bangladesh won't make things easy for them.

For Bangladesh, it has been a fine tournament, despite their struggles in T20Is over the past few years. They are a team in transition, but have played with a lot of conviction. While they will want to forget the India loss quickly, the fielding and bowling in the death were positives. Saif Hassan has emerged as a star in the last two games.

Pakistan have had a rollercoaster ride during the Asia Cup 2025, both on and off the field. While the chatter outside the ground has grabbed headlines, the performances in the ground have caught the eye of the public, but for all the wrong reasons. Salman Ali Agha and his men have failed to impress during the tournament, with their performances considered to be far from convincing. Keeping the win against Oman aside, all the other games have seen Pakistan being criticised.
