Manchester United's decision to loan out Marcus Rashford could single-handedly finance their next summer transfer, with plans reportedly already underway.

The 27-year-old is poised to join Barcelona on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer, finally realising his dream move after a prolonged period of uncertainty.

The La Liga champions have agreed to cover all of Rashford's wages during his time at the club, providing a significant financial relief for United. By removing the former No.10's salary from the payroll, The Times reports that United could save up to £17million over the next year, making the deal beneficial for all involved.

Ruben Amorim needs to sell players to fund further signings beyond Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Diego Leon. The Portuguese manager is understood to be in the market for a new striker, midfielder and goalkeeper before the summer transfer deadline, reports the Express.

Rashford's exit could prompt an immediate move for the latter, with Royal Antwerp's goalkeeper Senne Lammens on United's radar. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have made preliminary contact with Antwerp to enquire about the terms for a potential deal.

Lammens is reportedly one of the main options that Amorim is considering to bolster his goalkeeping squad, with Aston Villa's Emi Martinez also said to be on the shortlist. Following reports on Friday, it appears that United are set to ramp up their interest in the Belgian after his impressive season in the Pro League.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper let in just 32 goals in 30 league matches, keeping seven clean sheets. Furthermore, he made more saves (177) and prevented more goals (16.47) than any other goalkeeper in global football, attracting the attention of several clubs.

Antwerp reportedly value Lammens at around £17m, which could be a steal for what would be a long-term goalkeeping acquisition. And for United, getting Rashford's pay off the wage bill could hand United the exact amount they would need to sign the goalkeeper.

United have been rumoured to be in the market since Andre Onana sustained a pre-season hamstring injury, which could keep him out of action for up to six weeks. Altay Bayindir has rarely impressed fans when stepping in for the Cameroonian and could himself depart this summer if an appropriate offer comes in.

Lammens has emerged as a potential signing, and the Belgium Under-21 international has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.
