City head coach Michael Skubala named his final starting XI of the 2025/26 pre-season campaign.

Preparations stepped up ahead of the new Sky Bet League One season, with West Bromwich Albion the visitors to the LNER Stadium.

Reeco Hackett came into the starting XI after making an impact off the bench in a friendly at Grimsby Town last Tuesday, with new signings Ryley Towler and Sonny Bradley again named in the backline.

“Everyone is excited to be back at the LNER Stadium,” Skubala said.

“The most important thing for me is to make sure we get through the game without any injuries, the challenge for any head coach is balancing minutes and opportunities but today is a lot closer to how we need to look.

“We’re playing against a really good team, who will be competing towards the top end of the Championship this season. It will be a good test for us.”
