Despite securing another second-place finish in the Premier League, Arteta's team fell significantly short of champions Liverpool. There is still a sense of optimism at the Emirates Stadium that the summer transfer window could usher in the right players to break Arsenal's top-flight title drought. Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi appears poised to be one of those new additions. The Basque club are powerless to keep their midfielder due to a €60million (£51m) release clause in his contract.Below are some of the latest Arsenal headlines as well as a view on each one...Sesko 'stalemate'The Independent claim that Arsenal are locked in a stalemate with RB Leipzig over a deal for striker Benjamin Sesko this summer. It is claimed that there is still a €10m (£8.6m) gap between Arsenal and the German club. The report says that while Sesko's release clause is just over €80m (£70m), the Gunners have been seeking to do a deal on instalments, which currently comes to around €70m (£60m).Isaac Seelochan of football.london says:"It feels like a deal for Sesko is only a matter of time and a compromise will eventually be reached. Newcastle's Alexander Isak would be the ideal summer signing for Arsenal in my view, but reports of a £100m+ price tag are likely to be a major stumbling block."Rodrygo 'price'Arsenal have reportedly finally learnt Real Madrid’s valuation for Brazilian star Rodrygo. The forward has been linked with a move to North London this summer, but the La Liga giants have previously been defiant in refusing to name a price for the 24-year-old.According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, via The Express, Real have now back-tracked on their refusal to negotiate. They’ve put a £76m (€90m) fee on the star, a price likely to be within Arsenal’s reach.Isaac Seelochan of football.london says: "Rodrygo would be a good signing but I'm not sure if he's worth the price being quoted. Someone like Nico Williams would have been a better option but it looks likely that he will be heading to Barcelona this summer."
