After a comprehensive win in the T20I series, India will shift focus to the 50-over format where they'll face England in a three-match ODI series. It'll be an important series for India and will serve as the preparation for the following ICC Champions Trophy. The squad for the ODI series will be completely different from what India played in T20Is.

India could use the series to find out the best combination for the ICC Champions Trophy so there may be quite a few changes in the Indian XI for all three matches. For the first game though, India would likely step on the park with the tried and tested combination.

Rohit Sharma will open the innings with Shubman Gill. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been added to the India squad, but with Gill as vice-captain, there seems no place for him in the XI. Only if Gill gets injured, Jaiswal could be slotted in. Virat Kohli would play at three, followed by Shreyas Iyer. It will be a toss-up between Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul for the fifth slot, but Pant could edge out Rahul given his match-winning abilities and him being a left-hander.

Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar should be the three all-rounders. India would be tempted to play Axar Patel ahead of Jadeja, but if they have picked him in the squad, then he will certainly play ahead of Axar. Kuldeep Yadav will be the main spinner in the team while Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami will be the two pacers.

The ODI series will get underway on February 6 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur while the second and third ODI will be played in Cuttack and Ahmedabad on February 9 and 12 respectively.

India's Likely XI For The 1st ODI: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami.
