IND vs PAK Live Score, Asia Cup Super 4: Pakistan (171/5 in 20 ov), post challenging total in Dubai

3
Pakistan cricket team finish off with 171 runs in their 20 overs.

The highlight of the innings was perhaps India's comeback with the ball in the second half of the innings.

And it has perhaps India's terrible catching on Sunday that needs to be put under scanner as well. The dropped 5 chances, were poor with their ground fielding as well.

Live Score: Pakistan (171/5 in 20 overs) vs India. Faheem Ashraf (14*), Salman Ali Agha (17*).

Jasprit Bumrah ends a very expensive spell. He did not look good at well.

A rare off day for Jasprit Bumrah, who finishes off with 45 runs in his four overs.

He could have had a wicket, but Shubman Gill drops a dolly at deep mid wicket against Faheem Ashraf.

This is not the only drama that happened in this over. Pakistan also lost the wicket of Mohammad Nawaz via a silly run-out. He clipped a ball to square leg and then for some inexplicable reason stopped while completing his run. Suryakumar Yadav picked up the ball, threw it to the non-striker's end and uprooted the stumps.

Live Score: Pakistan (157/5 in 19 overs) vs India. Faheem Ashraf (8*), Salman Ali Agha (16*).

Finally a good over for Pakistan.

They hit Shivam Dube for a four and a six in the 18th over of the game.

That however will not damage Shivam Dube's numbers. He finishes off with an impressive 2/33 in his four overs. Out of the 33, he conceded 17 runs in his final over.

Who will bowl the final two overs now? Bumrah and Hardik?

Live Score: Pakistan (146/4 in 18 overs) vs India. Mohammad Nawaz (20*), Salman Ali Agha (15*).

Pakistan batters have completely lost the plot. After hitting Kuldeep Yadav for a six in the first delivery of the over, captain Salman Ali Agha has opted to defend everything.

To Kuldeep's credit, he varies his pace in this over and keeps Salman guessing.

Live Score: Pakistan (129/4 in 17 overs) vs India. Mohammad Nawaz (7*), Salman Ali Agha (11*).

Shivam Dube has brought India back in the game after the break.

He has picked up two wickets and made sure that Pakistan do not get easy boundaries.

In fact, Pakistan's last boundary came in the 10th over, right before Dube took the ball in his hands.

Live Score: Pakistan (119/4 in 15 overs) vs India. Mohammad Nawaz (6*), Salman Ali Agha (2*).

Wicket! The cutters are sticking to the surface and creating big trouble for Pakistan.

Shivam Dube has had a simple playbook so far. bowl it short, bowl it wide and bowl it a cutter.

Sahibzada Farhan tries to slog the ball, he loses his bat in the process, and a high top edge goes straight into the hands of Suryakumar Yadav at mid-off.

Live Score: Pakistan (115/4 in 14.1 overs) vs India. Mohammad Nawaz (4*), Sahibzada Farhan (58).

Pakistan have dropped anchor since the wicket of Saim Ayub in the 11th over. Sahibzada Farhan has been leaving the slower bouncers on the off side.

You can sense that something's got to give. A wicket is coming I believe.

Live Score: Pakistan (110/2 in 13 overs) vs India. Hussain Talat (10*), Sahibzada Farhan (58*).

7 runs from the Varun Chakravarthy over. Pakistan steal a 3after Hussain Talat paddle swept the spinner very fine through the leg side.

Varun is wicketless at the moment after bowling 3 overs. He would have had two wickets if Kuldeep and Abhishek would have been able to hold on to the catches.

Live Score: Pakistan (103/2 in 12 overs) vs India. Hussain Talat (6*), Sahibzada Farhan (56*).

Left hander Hussain Talat is the new man into the crease. The batter makes a meal of a free hit from Shivam Dube.

A good bowling change from India and it is good to see that they have regrouped well at the drinks break. Saim Ayub wastes his opportunity despite having the momentum with him.

Live Score: Pakistan (96/2 in 11 overs) vs India. Hussain Talat (2*), Sahibzada Farhan (53*).

An immediate impact from Shivam Dube! He bangs the ball in short and entices Saim Ayub into playing the pull. The batter looses his shape and gets a top edge to fine leg.

Abhishek Sharma sprints in, puts in a dive and catches the ball. He roars after completing the catch.

Sain Ayub departs for 21 runs after adding 72 for the second wicket with Sahibzada Farhan.

Live Score: Pakistan (95/2 in 10.5 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (21), Sahibzada Farhan (53*).

Legendary Sunil Gavaskar in commentary states that Pakistan have done very well. He says that in the group-stage game, Pakistan tried to play a lot of cross-batted shots.

This time, they have tried to hit the ball a lot straighter, which has paid dividends in this game.

Meanwhile, Farhan reaches his fifty in 34 balls. A good innings so far, but they have to up the ante a little bit.

Live Score: Pakistan (91/1 in 10 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (21*), Sahibzada Farhan (52*).

A catch drop in the powerplay, and now getting battered by Pakistan players - it is not a good day to be Kuldeep Yadav at the moment.

8.1: Saim Ayub steps down against Kuldeep and hits him for a lovely lofted shot over the bowler's head. It is a big six that lands beyond the sight screen.

8.4: Slogged away. Farhan gets into the act now. No point defending Kuldeep as one of the balls might have your number eventually. Slogged through long on for a six.

Pakistan are cruising at the moment.

Live Score: Pakistan (83/1 in 9 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (20*), Sahibzada Farhan (45*).

First over after the powerplay and Kuldeep Yadav starts well. He keeps it tight against the batters and Saim Ayub and Farhan also show the spinner some deserved respect.

But disaster strikes in the 8th over. A flat hit from Farhan travels to the right of long on where Abhishek Sharma is standing. Abhishek sprints to his right, tries to get a single hand to the ball, and parries the ball to the boundary for a six.

Live Score: Pakistan (70/1 in 8 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (13*), Sahibzada Farhan (39*).

Varun Chakravathy gets hit for an unlucky boundary in the final ball of the 5th over. Pakistan have been lucky in this over. However, it was a good over from Varun, who manages to keep the Pakistan batters in check.

Meanwhile, Bumrah continues to bowl poorly in the powerplay. Farhan hits the pacer for a boundary through the leg side.

Bumrah is under pressure right now.

And that shows once again as Farhan slices the bowler for another boundary as Pakistan score 55 runs in the powerplay, perhaps the best result against India they have had in a while.

Live Score: Pakistan (55/1 in 6 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (9*), Sahibzada Farhan (29*).

Simple catch! A simple catch in short third man and Kuldeep Yadav keep the ball into his hands.

Varun finds the top edge of Saim Ayub and was ecstatic in the hope of getting a wicket. However, Kuldeep Yadav fails to settle under it and drops a simple chance.

This is India's second drop of the match, after Abhishek Sharma dropped Farhan in the first over of the match.

Live Score: Pakistan (43/1 in 4.1 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (6*), Sahibzada Farhan (20*).

Jasprit Bumrah has been smacked for back to back boundaries in his second over of the match as well.

First, Bumrah got pulled to deep midwicket in the first ball by Farhan, and now has bowled a waist high full toss in the 5th ball as well, which was also deposited for a four through the leg side.

A rare off-colour start for Bumrah in the match. He has conceded 21 runs in his first two overs.

Live Score: Pakistan (36/1 in 4 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (4*), Sahibzada Farhan (15*).

Smart bowling by Hardik Pandya. He takes the pace of the ball against Fakhar, after how had battered Bumrah in the previous over.

Saim Ayub comes out to bat at No.3.

Something tells me that this is not the last time we will be hearing about this catch today.

Waqar Younis on commentary says that he is not sure if the ball had carried into the gloves of Samson. All we can say is that it was mighty close.

Live Score: Pakistan (26/1 in 3 overs) vs India. Saim Ayub (4*), Sahibzada Farhan (6*).

Hardik Pandya gets the edge of Fakhar Zaman in the 3rd over. Slower ball on the off stump, Fakhar edges the ball and the ball nearly carries into Samson's hands. Very very low catch.

Has that carried? The umpire is having a look.

It is out! The third umpire says that the ball has indeed carried into the hands of Samson, just about!

Fakhar Zaman is stunned, he does not want to go. But he has to.

Live Score: Pakistan (21/1 in 2.3 overs) vs India. Fakhar Zaman (15*), Sahibzada Farhan (6*).

A rare poor over from Jasprit Bumrah. This is a good show of intent from Pakistan as they try to put pressure on the only specialist fast bowler that India have in their line-up.

This in turn will put pressure on other India bowlers in the powerplay.

Live Score: Pakistan (17/0 in 2 over) vs India. Fakhar Zaman (10*), Sahibzada Farhan (6*).

Promoted to open the innings, Fakhar Zaman takes the attack to Jasprit Bumrah. After flicking Bumrah off the pads in the 3rd ball, he steps out and punches Bumrah down the ground in the fourth ball of the innings.

Top quality cricket. Bumrah needs to give a prompt reply now.

Live Score: Pakistan (16/0 in 1.4 overs) vs India. Fakhar Zaman (10*), Sahibzada Farhan (6*).

After batting three ducks in as many matches in the group stage, Saim Ayub has been dropped down the order. Fakhar Zaman is opening with Sahibzada Farhan. Saim Ayub is likely to bat at No. 4.

Wasim Akram had hinted about this before the toss.

Meanwhile, India give the new ball to Hardik Pandya.

Can Pakistan get off to a good start today?

Sanjay Manjrekar and Ravi Shastri do the pitch report for today's match.

It is a typical Dubai pitch at this time of the year, the duo state.

It will get better to bat in the second innings. As the ball gets older, it will grip.Manjrekar suggests that the batters take a little time on the pitch and assess the pace.

175+ will be the ideal total here.

Ravi Shastri wants Pakistan to play brave cricket. He does not want yet another timid display from Pakistan in the Super 4 game.

The former India coach agrees that the pressure in the match does built from the outside and the players' job is to cut out the noise and perform at their best.

We are just half an hour away from the toss. Will there be another handshake snub? Will the two captains not see eye to eye? Or will Pakistan boycott the toss itself?

We are ready for a spicy clash in the Super 4 of the Asia Cup.

India Today's Nikhil Naz is reporting that Pakistan fast bowler was heard screaming 6-0,6-0.

Nikhil reports that it is not clear if it was a sarcastic jibe towards India in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor or if he was just shouting the scoreline of the intra-Pakistan game.

What does 6-0 mean?

6-0 is a veiled dig at India, which refers to the Pakistani claim that they downed 6 Indian Rafale jets during the standoff between the two countries. The claims remained unverified.

Right then, we are only one and a half hours away from the toss. Are Pakistan going to stay back in their hotel. Will they again find cold shoulder from India at the toss.

So many questions to answer.

I think we wil have a belter of a competition. Stay tuned for the build-up.

“That’s what I think they will do. Even yesterday, Arshdeep and Harshit went for a few runs. They would probably want more overs under their belt, but they didn’t get that. So clearly, I think they will go with Jasprit and Hardik Pandya with the new ball, and then bring in the spinners,” Gavaskar told India Today.

Legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar has shared his thoughts on Pakistan skipping the press conference ahead of the India fixture, saying that the ACC can consider deducting points going forward.

“I don’t know what the thinking behind that is, but as far as I know, press conferences are mandatory. If teams don’t hold them, I’m not sure what the penalties are—if any—but in today’s world, it’s important for the media to be involved and kept informed," Gavaskar told India Today.

As far as I know, there’s a governing committee within the ACC for tournaments like this, and they’ll likely want to understand what’s going on. If there is something in the rulebook stating that attending press conferences is mandatory, then perhaps going forward, if a team fails to comply, a point could be deducted from their table. That might be a viable way forward,” he added.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has suggested that India should play Arshdeep Singh.

"I will stick to my words, what I said before the start of the Asia Cup. I would want to see Arshdeep play with (Jasprit) Bumrah because a situation could come where you might need a second fast bowler. When the ball gets wet and you are under pressure, is Hardik's (Pandya) strength bowling six yorkers, or can Shivam Dube bowl those yorkers consistently?,” Pathan said on Sony Sports.

It is expected to be a hot and humid day in Dubai for the India vs Pakistan clash, according to the folks at AccuWeather. The temperature is expected to be around the 36 degree celsius mark and humidity around 50 percent. There is no chance of rain and we should get a full game.

Former India cricketer, Aakash Chopra says Shubman Gill should focus on batting deeper as UAE pitches don’t always offer 200-plus scores. He praised Abhishek Sharma for giving explosive starts at a strike rate of 200, adding that while Gill was not out on 20 in the first match, he has struggled since, getting out to Saim Ayub and then being bowled.

Spin dominates across the UAE, especially in Dubai compared with Abu Dhabi. If fit, India are likely to use three spinners, including Axar Patel. Teams batting second have traditionally enjoyed a big advantage here—once winning 15 consecutive T20Is among Full-Member nations—but recent matches have been more balanced, with the last five games seeing three wins and two losses for the chasing side.

Andy Pycroft, at the centre of the infamous handshake row on 14 September, will once again be the match referee when India and Pakistan clash in the Super Fours in Dubai on Sunday. The PCB had demanded his “immediate removal” after Pycroft asked captains Salman Agha and Suryakumar Yadav not to shake hands at the toss of the September 14 game. He stayed on, and the controversy spilled into Pakistan’s next match against the UAE. The team skipped their pre-match press conference and did not take the field on time, forcing a one-hour delay while backroom talks with the ICC played out.

On the field, little has changed. India remain the team to beat, while Pakistan continues to search for balance and consistency. Yet the spotlight has increasingly shifted from cricketing strategy to off-field tensions. The handshake incident drew attention away from the match itself, and it is understood that the Indian team may maintain the no-handshake policy for Sunday’s Super 4 clash, even as Pakistan players and supporters frame it as a “grudge match.”

It’s time for another India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup, just eight days after their last meeting. Tense build-ups to Indo-Pak men’s cricket matches are nothing new, but the “surface tension” this time is particularly pronounced, following last Sunday’s controversy when Suryakumar Yadav and his team chose not to shake hands with their rivals, sparking a media storm. The past week has also been dominated by off-field drama, including Pakistan’s boycott threat ahead of the UAE clash and their appeal against referee Andy Pycroft.
