Nicolas Jackson has remained in Germany in an attempt to revive his move to Bayern Munich but Chelsea are only willing to consider a permanent a deal and want to sign a replacement if the striker leaves.Jackson was given permission to fly to Munich on Saturday after Bayern reached an agreement on a loan with an option to buy for €65m. However, Chelsea contacted the German club to inform that they were pulling out of the deal after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury against Fulham later in the day.Delap was sent for an immediate scan and the early signs are that the damage could be significant enough to keep him out for up to eight weeks.Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea head coach, is reluctant to proceed with only one fit striker given his team’s packed schedule over the next two months.Yet there was another twist when a disappointed Jackson refused his club’s request to return to London. The Senegal international has remained in Bavaria with his representatives, who are trying to find a solution with the Bundesliga champions.Jackson will not be allowed to depart on loan. Chelsesa are, however, willing to sanction a permanent departurebut Bayern must pay €65m for the 24-year-old. Bayern have spent heavily this summer and indicated that they can only do loans at this late stage. The situation is fluid and has caused Chelsea to make contingency plans in case Jackson leaves. They are looking at permanent deals rather than loans and have made inquiries about a number of forwards, including Sporting Lisbon’s Conrad Harder. The 20-year-old Danish forward joined Sporting from Nordsjælland last year and has scored six goals in 32 league appearances. RB Leizpig have been linked with Harder. As it stands Chelsea still expect Jackson to rejoin the squad. They were willing to let him go after buying João Pedro and Delap this summer. Jackson, who joined from Villarreal two years ago, has dropped down the pecking order and asked to leave earlier this month. He has not featured in Chelsea’s first three games this season.skip past newsletter promotion Sign up to Football Daily Free daily newsletter Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football Enter your email address Sign up Privacy Notice: Newsletters may contain info about charities, online ads, and content funded by outside parties. Cole Palmer is also out with a groin injury.Depth in attacking midfield is not an issue for Maresca. Chelsea confirmed the £40m signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United on Saturday and are hope that Facundo Buonanotte, who is joining on loan from Brighton, can provide cover for Palmer. They have yet to receive a response from Barcelona after offering €40m for Fermín López. Barça are believed to want over €60m for the midfielder.
