After powerfully hitting the ball for a six, Singh is seen walking towards the non-striker’s end, seemingly celebrating with his partner. He was rushed to a hospital by other players and was declared dead on arrival. A video doing the rounds on social media showed the deceased Vikas Negi walking across the pitch to meet his batting partner Umesh Kumar following a boundary in the 14th over of the innings before collapsing, prompting the wicketkeeper, bowler and other players to rush to his aid.According to a report by NDTV, Negi's body was sent for a post-mortem examination and doctors declared heart attack as the cause of death. According to a preliminary report, Negi was healthy but was a Covid survivor. He used to often play cricket in Noida and Delhi to keep himself fit.After the pandemic, there have been increasing instances of Covid survivors between 30-40 years dying of heart attacks.
