Argentina's football star, Lionel Messi, and his Inter Miami, played out an entertaining goalless draw against Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the opening game of the revamped 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday (14 June).

Inter Miami had veteran goalkeeper Oscar Ustari to thank for keeping them in the game, as he pulled off several outstanding saves, including a crucial penalty stop, to help his team avoid defeat at home.

Backed by a large group of travelling fans, Al Ahly took control early and dominated much of the first half. The 12-time African champions created clear chances, but Ustari, 38, denied Wessam Abou Ali and Emam Ashour with two brilliant stops.

His biggest moment came just before halftime. After Mahmoud Trezeguet was brought down in the box by Maximiliano Falcon, the former Aston Villa forward stepped up to take the penalty. But Ustari dived the right way to keep it out.
