Man Utd fans all in agreement about Ruben Amorim's 'only shining light' player vs Tottenham in Europa League final

Manchester United fans have insisted that only one first-team star under Ruben Amorim “deserves praise” after the 2025 Europa League final tie against Tottenham.

The Red Devils were in action at the San Mames Stadium on Wednesday evening and Manchester United fell short to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

Tottenham broke the deadlock against United in Bilbao in the first half after Brennan Johnson put Spurs 1-0 up and Ange Postecoglou took their advantage into half-time.

Brennan Johnson’s first-half opener, which benefited significantly from a Luke Shaw deflection, proved enough for Tottenham to seal their 1-0 victory over United.

United were chasing the match against Tottenham in the second half and Ruben Amorim’s men simply could not find the all-important equaliser against Spurs.

The Red Devils will now end their disastrous 2024-25 season without any major silverware and with a terrible finish looming in the Premier League table.

United languish in 16th place and Amorim’s side are only one point ahead of 17th-place Tottenham with only one Premier League match remaining this season.

Amorim’s side will be without European football for the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford and the Red Devils failed to secure their return to the Champions League.

Man Utd fans made their feelings perfectly clear on Leny Yoro after the player’s Europa League final performance vs Tottenham

Leny Yoro took his place in the three-man backline of Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United tactical system for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in Spain.

The 19-year-old French defender has become a key United first-team player under Amorim and Leny Yoro saw out the full 90 minutes at the San Mames Stadium.

United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, felt that Red Devils centre-back Yoro was the standout performer on Wednesday evening.

“Yoro is made for the top; he’s class,” one Red Devils supporter said.

Another X user suggested: “Leny Yoro was very, very good today.”

“Yoro is one hell of a player, what a man,” someone else commented.

While a fourth United fan wrote: “Yoro was a mile above any other players on that pitch, BTW, not even close either. Best defender for us, best midfielder for us, best delivery into the box.”

And a fifth posted: “Yoro is the only player that deserves praise after that performance. Absolutely sickening.”

Somebody else added: “Yoro is the only one who looked like he wanted to win today and he’s a freakin’ CB!!!”

“My boy deserved better… The only player who was ready for the finals… Leny Yoro,” another claimed.

An eighth argued: “Yoro was the only shining light tonight.”

Ruben Amorim breaks his silence after Man Utd failed to lift the Europa League trophy following the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham

Speaking at his post-match press conference on Wednesday evening, United manager Amorim admitted that the Red Devils are now in a “tough” place.

“We have two plans for the market and we have to understand it is tough for a club like ours not to be in the Champions League,” he said, as per BBC Sport.

“But we have to use the other side. We have more time to work during the week on the Premier League and that will be our focus.”

United will now leave Spain and return to England for their final Premier League match of their abysmal 2024-25 campaign on the weekend.

The Red Devils will welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford on Sunday, with kick-off for the Premier League tie slated for 4pm UK time.
