Novak Djokovic could face a nightmare draw at this year's WimbledonNovak Djokovic could face a nightmare draw at Wimbledon after falling down the world rankings. The Serbian has been seeded sixth for the 2025 edition of the tournament so could be forced to face a string of top stars if he makes it all the way to the final. Djokovic has excelled on grass in the past and has often dominated his opponents at Wimbledon. The 38-year-old has lifted the trophy at SW19 on seven occasions, with his first triumph coming in 2011 following a victory over Rafael Nadal. His most recent success came against Nick Kyrgios in 2022, with the veteran since losing back-to-back finals to Carlos Alcaraz. And Express Sport takes a look at Djokovic’s nightmare draw scenario ahead of this year’s event. And that means he could face Cam Norrie in the opening round. Norrie played against Djokovic in the 2022 Wimbledon semi-finals and took the first set off the blockbuster star before eventually succumbing to the seven-time champion. And with the majority of the crowd behind him in his home country, the 29-year-old may sense an upset if he is drawn against Djokovic again. Second round - Dan Evans Djokovic could face another British star in the form of Dan Evans if he comes through his first round encounter. Evans, who played doubles with Andy Murray at last year’s Paris Olympics, has already stunned Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul on the grass this year. And he would give his all at the All England Club in a clash with Djokovic. Bublik, who is seeded 28th, has been in scintillating form this summer and defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final of the Halle Open at the weekend. While he lacks consistency, the Russian-born Kazakh is a match for anyone on his day and could produce a memorable performance in a match up with Djokovic. Fourth round – Daniil Medvedev The tough matches would come thick and fast towards the latter stages of Wimbledon, with ninth seed Medvedev potentially in line to play against Djokovic in the fourth round. Medvedev won the US Open in 2021 and has reached five other Grand Slam finals so has plenty of experience in the big matches. He’ll fancy his chances against an ageing Djokovic should the duo meet in the capital. Quarter-finals - Jack Draper Another British ace could await Djokovic in the quarter-finals, with top-four seed Jack Draper aiming to go all the way this year. Draper was knocked out of Queen’s at the semi-final stage at the weekend after dealing with a bout of tonsillitis. But a fully fit Draper in front of the Wimbledon crowd would be a completely different proposition, and he could push the 24-time Grand Slam champion to his absolute limit.SUBSCRIBE Invalid email We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you've consented to and to improve our understanding of you. The Italian has never won the title at the All England Club and will be desperate to change that record this year. Sinner is at the height of his powers and would be favourite to win a semi-final showdown between the pair. So Djokovic would have to be at his very best to win the match. Final - Carlos Alcaraz If Djokovic somehow manages to get past his first six opponents, he could come up against Alcaraz in the final for the third year in a row. Alcaraz clearly has the upper hand over Djokovic these days and would be confident of getting another win. So it would be up to the Serb to show that he can still perform on the biggest stage, with a record 25th Grand Slam victory on the line.
