The Seattle Seahawks are trading wide receiver DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a second-round pick, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.Pittsburgh is rewarding Metcalf with a new five-year, $150-million contract, sources told Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.Metcalf has one year remaining on the $72-million extension he signed in July 2022, according to Over the Cap.The two-time Pro Bowler reportedly requested a trade from the Seahawks last week and was seeking a new pact. Seattle also dealt quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders last week.Metcalf collected 1,000 or more yards in three campaigns and has tallied 900 yards in each season since he was drafted in 2019. The 27-year-old caught 66 passes for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.Metcalf bolsters Pittsburgh's receiving corps - the 6-foot-4, 235-pound star wideout will line up alongside George Pickens and join a receiver room that also includes Calvin Austin and Roman Wilson.It remains unclear who will be under center in Pittsburgh. Quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both set to be unrestricted free agents, though the Steelers have expressed interest in bringing one of the signal-callers back for the 2025 season.The Seahawks also released Tyler Lockett earlier this offseason and will have a new look under offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will headline the revamped unit after leading the team in receptions, yards, and TDs last year.
