After Mbeumo: Man Utd Table Loan Offer to Sign 'World-Class' Star

Manchester United have tabled a bid to sign Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez on loan this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils are hoping to have a busy summer transfer window in order to bolster Ruben Amorim's squad, and have so far completed deals for both Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford ahead of their pre-season tour of the USA.

But the club are still keen to make more additions before the transfer window closes and goalkeeper is an area of the squad they'd like to strengthen, with Martinez among the targets.

Man Utd Make Loan Bid for Martinez

Aston Villa rejected offer immediately

Martinez, who has been described as 'world-class' by Sky Sports pundit Dan Bardell, is expected to leave Villa Park this summer to help the club raise funds following their failure to reach the Champions League.

Man Utd have been strongly linked with a move for the Argentina international this summer, and according to a new report by the Daily Mail they firmed up that interest in recent days by tabling an official offer to sign him on loan.

However, Aston Villa immediately rejected that bid as they have no interest in letting the 32-year-old leave on the cheap. They are open to offers and are aware that the player is keen on a new challenge, but they won't agree to a deal that holds no benefit to them.

Fabrizio Romano exclusively revealed on GIVEMESPORT that the goalkeeper has already 'said yes' to a move to Old Trafford this summer, despite their lack of European football, with reports in Argentina claiming that the former Arsenal star sees a move as a 'significant' step up.

Martinez is not the only goalkeeper on the shortlist for Man Utd currently though, with the club also eyeing a move for Belgian talent Senne Lammens - with the youngster expected to leave Antwerp this summer.
