Manchester United are admirers of Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola amid growing uncertainty over Ruben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford, journalist Miguel Delaney has reported. The Red Devils are thought to be among several clubs that admire the 'winning machine' Spanish tactician, who has enjoyed immense success at the Vitality Stadium since arriving on the south coast in June 2023.Iraola guided Bournemouth to a 12th-place finish in his first season in 2023/24 and improved on that last term, with the Cherries climbing to ninth – the highest league finish in their history - as the Spaniard deployed a four-at-the-back formation.Bournemouth have also started the 2024/25 campaign positively, winning three of their first four games, with their only loss coming on the opening day, 4-2 away at champions Liverpool.Iraola, who signed an extension with the club following an impressive debut season in 2024, has less than a year left on his deal, which runs until June 2026.Man United Admire Andoni IraolaDelaney, writing in the Inside Football newsletter, revealed that both United and Manchester City are admirers of Iraola, praised as 'incredible' and 'one of the best' in the Premier League, with the Sky Blues identifying the Spaniard as their 'top target' to replace Pep Guardiola.City also considered appointing Amorim as a long-term successor to Guardiola last term, which saw United move quickly for the Portuguese manager in November.Ten months on, the former Sporting Lisbon boss is under heavy scrutiny amid United’s poor start to the season, with four points collected from their first four Premier League games.A 3-0 loss in the Manchester derby on Sunday saw United register their worst start to a league campaign in 33 years, with the club sitting 14th in the table – one place higher than where they finished last season.Despite both fans and pundits piling pressure on the club to make another change in the dugout, United are not expected to make a decision on Amorim’s future any time soon, as GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs has revealed. The Portuguese tactician retains the backing of the United board at the moment, and his job security will be more seriously discussed if the Red Devils are not on course to qualify for European competitions as the season progresses.
