What referee said after 'harsh' Rangers vs Kilmarnock red card

Wright was ordered off at Ibrox after David Dickinson was ordered to review a handball incident in the box. The centre-back had attempted to block a shot from Dujon Sterling from very close range before the ball struck his arm.

While Findlay was disappointed by the call - which Derek McInnes branded harsh - he did reveal the "explanation of sorts" offered to Kilmarnock players by referee Dickinson.

The defender said: "It is hard to say. I have seen it back once and it wasn't the best angle.

"I don't know what the rules are. I spoke to the ref and he gave me an explanation of sorts.

"I don't really know the reasoning fully, it is not something I want to comment on.

"I just have to try as a defender to adapt when we got down to 10 men and as I said we did it really well and then lost that first goal.

"We just have to get on with it.

"He said that the ball hit his hand in the box and the handball rule, again it is not something I want to get into, it is what it is."

Kilmarnock have already secured European football for next season but could guarantee a Europa League qualifying round spot by sealing fourth against St Mirren this weekend.

The Buddies sit in fifth, six points behind Kilmarnock and five points ahead of Dundee.

Kilmarnock have had the better of St Mirren this season - and backed by a capacity visiting support in Paisley - Findlay is determined to finish the job and secure fourth spot.

"We have had three massive games against St Mirren this season," said Findlay.

"It has been us and them have been very close to each other and so far we have come out on top with two wins in three games.

"I think the last game, what we showed when we went 2-0 down.

"It is a team that we know if we perform against we can try to get a positive result and I know from what I have heard, Kilmarnock have sold out the away end already so it is going to be massive game for both teams and it is up to us to put today right and try to cement that fourth position."
