It looks like John Metchie is getting a fresh start.

The Houston Texans are trading the Canadian wide receiver to the Philadelphia Eagles, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday.

Both teams are swapping late-round draft picks, while the Eagles are also sending tight end Harrison Bryant as part of the deal, per ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime.

Metchie has struggled to get consistent playing time with the Texans since being selected by the team in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Brampton, Ont., native missed a year of football after getting drafted in order to get treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia.

The 24-year-old caught 24 passes for 254 yards and one touchdown last season. He had five receptions for 45 yards on eight targets in Houston's pre-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

Metchie will reunite with Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith, who played with the Canadian at Alabama.
