Man Utd Want to Sign PSG ‘Gamechanger’ for Amorim, He Wants to Leave

Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Lee Kang-in, who “is seriously considering” leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to CaughtOffside.

After what was their worst-ever Premier League season in terms of points tally and league position, Man United have worked this summer to ensure that they improve on such a dire campaign. Though the Red Devils failed to qualify for European football, their stature as a club has remained a brilliant tool for negotiating transfers.

To date, Ruben Amorim’s side have made three key signings, completely revamping their attack by recruiting Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, who each enjoyed brilliant individual seasons. Man United have also shown an interest in Carlos Baleba, amongst others, suggesting their business is far from finished.

Now, reports have suggested the Old Trafford side could make a stunning move for one particular Ligue 1 star.

Man United Monitoring Lee Kang-in

As per CaughtOffside, Lee Kang-in is debating a departure from PSG before the transfer window shuts on September 1st. The South Korean has been in the French capital since 2023 and while “highly rated” by manager Luis Enrique, Lee has struggled to be a consistent starter due to how much quality is around him.

PSG, who won a European treble last season, would reportedly be willing to let Lee depart should they receive a suitable offer. An attacking midfielder who is comfortable out wide, Lee would, on paper, be an ideal fit for the number 10 role within Amorim’s system, offering competition to the likes of the aforementioned Cunha and Mbeumo.

If Lee, who has been called a "gamechanger," is to move on this summer, it would be in order to receive consistent first-team football. Given his age, the South Korea international could become a key part of the Man United squad for years to come should the Red Devils decide to pursue a move.

CaughtOffside have reported that Lee’s contract with PSG is valid until 2028, meaning any deal involving the attacker would certainly not be cheap. Signing Lee, though, would be another statement of intent from Man United as they enter a very important season.
