VfB Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich: Halftime, both teams level

1
Halftime: VfB Stuttgart 1-1 Bayern Munich.

36’ — GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Harry Kane converts from the spot after Serge Gnabry was brought down inside the box.

28’ — Goal. Stuttgart make it 1-0 while Eric Dier was off the pitch getting treatment for his head injury.

16’ — Sub: Guerreiro is down and subbed off, Goretzka comes on.

12’ — Eric Dier is down for treatment after a clash of heads with Guirassy. His forehead is bleeding.

Kickoff: We’re underway!

One hour until kickoff: We have lineups! Serge Gnabry returns to the lineup as Bayern Munich rotates a LOT. Konrad Laimer, Leon Goretzka, and Thomas Müller have all been benched while Guerreiro and Pavlović start in midfield. Mazraoui is also rested as Alphonso Davies starts. Crazy how Davies is basically a bench player at this point.

Real Madrid and Stuttgart both wear white, but that doesn’t mean Bayern Munich will treat them both the same. When the Bundesliga is done and dusted and even Champions League qualification is secured, three points in the league is worth far less than an uneventful game with no injuries or overdue exertion.

Players like Harry Kane, Thomas Müller, Leon Goretzka, and Joshua Kimmich should still expect to take part in this game, but others like Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané will likely sit it out. This presents a valuable opportunity for the bench to make an impression — Mathys Tel, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and others will doubtless relish this chance.

It’s Bayern time.
