WATCH: Haris Rauf called out 'disgusting, incompetent' as PAK pacer mocks Indian fans with '6-0', 'fighter jet' gestures

Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf caused a stir with his on-field antics during Sunday's Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match against India at the Dubai International Stadium. Rauf agitated the spectators with "6-0" and fighter jet gestures in response to persistent chants of 'Kohli, Kohli' by the Indian fans aimed at the pacer. For those unaware, Virat Kohli had smacked Rauf for a couple of sixes in a tight India vs Pakistan encounter at Melbourne in 2022. Out of the two sixes, one was so elegant that it is still talked about by cricket enthusiast.

The videos of Rauf making those gesture have gone viral on social media, and led to plenty of criticism towards the Pakistan pacer. Many even called out the display "disgusting" and "incompetent".

Even though he was Pakistan's best bowler on the evening, taking two wickets, including India captain Suryakumar Yadav for a duck, he was blasted by the Indian fans and smashed by India's opening duo of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, who hit him for 18 runs in 11 balls.

In the videos doing round, he is seen making gestures of fighter jet and kept displaying the "6-0" signal, a propaganda tactic connected to the untrue allegation that six Indian Air Force planes were shot down during Operation Sindoor in May. Additionally, he was heard yelling "6-0" during the Pakistan training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Saturday.

Abhishek and Gill gave India a blazing start in their chase of 172, stitching a 105-run opening stand. Tensions flared during the fifth over when Gill cracked Rauf for a boundary. As tempers rose, Abhishek and Rauf exchanged words before umpire Gazi Sohel stepped in to calm things down.

After accepting his Player of the Match award, Abhishek talked about the verbal altercation in the post-match interview. "Today was pretty simple, the way they were coming out to us (Pakistani bowlers) without any reason, I did not like it at all. That is why I went after them. I wanted to deliver for the team."
