Nine presenter Tony Jones has accepted Danielle Collins' Brat dance challenge, on one condition - that she do it with him.

Collins on Saturday night challenged Jones to do the so-called 'Apple dance' that has taken over TikTok to Charli XCX's new song Brat.

This scribe is over the age of 30 and a sports reporter. He makes no apologies if this pop-culture reference is a bit cooked.

Having endeared herself to the Australian crowd in her second round win over Destanee Aiava, Jones called Collins a "brat" on radio, which made its way back to Collins.

After her loss to Madison Keys on Saturday night, Collins was asked if she had any new fans after her earlier antics.

"I love this old guy, Tony Jones ... I just love how he called me a brat. It's just so Gen Z and Millennial right now with Charli XCX," she said.

"I really want him to do the dance. He has to do it. I really want to get a one-on-one with him, and we got to do the dance."

Speaking on Nine's The Morning Serve, Jones basically said 'anywhere, anytime', as long as Collins does it with him.

"The challenge is out there, how can I say no?," he said.

With tongue in cheek, fellow panellist Casey Delacqua said it would be "a sight to see".

Jones then admitted in throwing down the challenge, Collins had won him over.

"I love the theatre, and don't we love theatre in tennis," he said.

Jim Courier said the exchange was "authentic" Danielle Collins.

"She is awesome. She is exactly who you think she is. She is authentic and she is a terrific tennis player but she is a tonne of fun, a tonne of fun."
