Earlier, India U19 had hobbled their way to a score of 300 before losing all 10 wickets against Australia U19. India’s top scorer of the game was Abhigyan Kundu, who scored his second half century of the Australia tour before getting run out for 71. The team were given a flying start by Vaibhav Suryavanshi (70) and Vihaan Malhotra (70). All of India’s top 5 batters, except captain Ayush Mhatre, got starts, but no one managed to get to the three-figure mark.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi had an unusual start to the game: he scored just 10 runs off the first 29 balls, before finding his range and smashing his way to a quickfire 50 off 54 balls with three boundaries and five sixes. Suryavanshi broke the youth ODI record for most career sixes in the game. He surpassed Unmukt Chand’s record 38 sixes in only 10 innings.

India U19 vs Australia U19 2nd Youth ODI Live Streaming

The India U19 side is back in action today after their seven-wicket victory on Sunday over the Australia U19 side.

The news from Brisbane is that the Australia Under 19s side have won the toss and elected to bowl first. This means that some of India’s brightest stars, including Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, will be in action shortly in Brisbane. Indian-origin emerging star Yash Deshmukh has been handed the captaincy today by Australia.

In the first Youth ODI of the series, India were set a target of 226 runs by Australia, thanks to an unbeaten 77 from John James while Tom Hogan (41) and Steven Hogan (39) also pitched in with handy contributions. For India, Henil Patel was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for 38 runs.

Australia name 2 Indian-origin boys, Aryan Sharma and Yash Deshmukh, in U19 men’s squad for series against India U19

Two boys with Indian roots, Aryan Sharma and Yash Deshmukh, will be in the Australia U19 squad for the upcoming series against India from 21 September to 10 October. The series between India U19 and Australia U19 teams will feature three 50-over matches and two four-day matches in Brisbane and Mackay.

While Aryan Sharma hails from the state of Victoria, Yash Deshmukh is from New South Wales.

This series is part of Cricket Australia’s long-term player development strategy, offering young players the chance to gain international experience in white-ball and red-ball formats. It forms part of the preparation for a two-year-long ICC U19 World Cup cycle, with the tournament scheduled for January 2026 in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The cycle has so far included a camp at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane, AUS U19 tour to India, and a specialised spin/batting training camp in India.
