Australia's all-conquering women's cricket side will need to play six matches in 17 days if they are to retain their T20 World Cup crown.

The fixture list for October's tournament in Bangladesh was released on Monday morning, with Australia opening its campaign against a qualifier, before clashes with Pakistan, New Zealand and India.

The qualifier will be either Scotland or Sri Lanka.

Australia's opening match is on October 4, with the final being played on October 20.

That means to win the World Cup for the fourth consecutive time, Australia will play its four pool matches, semifinal and final in 17 days.

All teams will play two warm-up matches before the World Cup.

Australia will face another qualifier and then England.
