Bills’ Josh Allen downplays nose injury after Buffalo's lopsided win vs. Jets

Josh Allen has been one of the NFL’s most durable quarterbacks. On Sunday, however, the Buffalo Bills quarterback had to exit the game late in the first quarter after taking a shot to the nose.

Allen was shown running off the field and being tended to by the team’s medical staff as they looked to stop his nose from bleeding. Allen said postgame that his nose was gushing blood in the moment.

Allen missed two plays to end the quarter and returned at the start of the second quarter with gauze up his left nostril.

Throughout the course of the game, Allen was seen on the sidelines with an ice pack pressed upon his face to limit swelling. The ice pack certainly helped in-game, but Allen’s nose appeared black and blue following the team’s 30-10 win over the Jets.

Should Bills fans be worried about the quarterback? According to the quarterback, the Bills Mafia can exhale.

In a post-game interview with CBS, Allen was asked how his nose was feeling. Despite likely being in pain, Allen managed to smile through his response.

“It’s feeling great,” Allen stated while chuckling. ”We’re good to go.”

A follow-up question by the reporter asked if an X-ray was in Allen’s future upon going to the locker room.

“I’m sure they’re going to ask me to, but I typically decline,” Allen said. “We’ll figure it out.”

Allen and the Bills have a short turnaround before their next matchup. Buffalo will host the 0-2 Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium on Thursday Night Football.
