Exciting young ruck Oscar Steene has inked a new deal, signing a two-year contract to remain in the black and white until at least the end of 2027.Exciting young ruck Oscar Steene has inked a new deal, signing a two-year contract to remain in the black and white until at least the end of 2027.Although yet to make his AFL debut, the 21-year-old has impressed at VFL level this year, playing 11 games and averaging 13.4 hit outs per game.The 201cm ruck has also shown his versatility, moving up forward and hitting the scoreboard with six majors, including multiple outings of two goals.Steene signed on as a rookie after training with Collingwood through the AFL’s Supplementary Selection Period in November 2022.General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch congratulated Steene on the new deal.“Oscar has worked incredibly hard over his three years at Collingwood, so this new deal is fantastic recognition for him,” Leppitsch said.“He has displayed great resilience to overcome some injury challenges early in his career and has impressed us all with his performances at VFL level this season.“At only 21 years old, Oscar has a lot of exciting football ahead of him, and we look forward to his continued growth in the coming years.”Secure your 2025 AFLW Membership!
