Former Indian women’s cricket team left-arm spinner Gouher Sultana on Friday announced her retirement from all forms of the game.Gouher Sultana, 37, made her international debut in 2008 and went on to play 50 WODIs and 37 WT20Is, claiming 66 and 29 wickets, respectively. Her last outing for India came in 2014.Sultana featured in two ODI World Cups (2009, 2013) and three T20 World Cups (2009–2014). Her ODI average of 19.39 is the third-best among Indian bowlers with 50 or more wickets in the format. Her WT20I bowling average was 26.27.She returned to the spotlight a decade later through the Women’s Premier League (WPL), turning out for UP Warriorz in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. However, Gouher Sultana featured in only four matches across the two editions.
