Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a shock return to management less than a year after leaving the Premier League.

After almost nine years at Liverpool, legendary manager Klopp left the club at the end of last season, saying that he simply didn't have the energy to stay on.

He later accepted a role with Red Bill as the Global Head of Football, overseeing football operations across several clubs.

Rumours have also heavily suggested that the 57-year-old would only return to management should the German National team job become available.

However, a new report has claimed that he has changed his mind and will now return to the dugout next season after agreeing to leave Red Bull and join a shock club.

According to Italian newspaper La Stampa, the German has agreed to take over at Serie A side Roma next season.

The outlet claims that the Italian club see Klopp as the perfect successor to Claudio Ranieri, who will return to his retirement at the end of the season having come back to Roma in November.

Klopp is said to have already given his word to join another club, but after the deal fell through, he was quick to agree terms with Roma, who have had a fantastic season under Ranieri.

And he's ready to make an instant impact after informing the club of the reinforcements he expects in the upcoming transfer market, demanding at least six signings.

After a dismal start to the season, the former Leicester City manager turned things around, handing Roma a chance of securing Champions League football next season.

As it stands, Roma are fifth in the Serie A table, one point behind fourth-placed Juventus who currently will receive the final Champions League spot, with just one game left in the season.

Should they win their final match against Torino, while Juventus drop points to a Venezia side battling relegation, then they will make it into the premier European competition.

If Roma make it to the Champions League, it would potentially set up a reunion between Klopp and Premier League champions Liverpool next season.
