Everton ‘doing everything’ to agree Jarrad Branthwaite deal after talks latest – sources

Everton will “do everything” to keep star centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseysiders have always wanted to keep their best players and are now more able to do so with the imminent move to the money-spinning Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

David Moyes’ side are plotting contract talks with Branthwaite as they attempt to tie him down to an improved, long-term deal.

Everton want to fend off interest in the England international, with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid among the sides keen on Branthwaite.

Everton plot Branthwaite contract talks

He signed an Everton extension in October 2023 after interest and offers from Man United – and that deal is set to expire in June 2027, with the club holding an option to extend by a further 12 months.

The defender’s left-footedness makes him a hot commodity while his stature in the game has exponentially grown since his return from a loan with Dutch side PSV in 2023.

He has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Everton’s senior side this term – starting in 20 of those outings.

Branthwaite missed the first portion of the 2024-25 campaign with a groin injury but has made a full recovery and has played 90 minutes in every game under Moyes.

He made his England debut last June and could be in the mix for a call-up in Thomas Tuchel’s first Three Lions squad later this month.

It is believed the Toffees will face competition from Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.

The Merseyside giants want to bolster their attacking options with Football Insider revealing that Everton aren’t expected to sign Jack Harrison on a permanent contract after his loan deal expires.
