Zimbabwe batter Brian Bennett was in full flow against Sri Lanka in the first T20I and helped his team put up a great fight in the contest. Bennett came out all guns blazing after Sri Lanka put the hosts into bat, and decimated the visitors' attack with a brutal 57-ball 81. It was because of his knock that Zimbabwe got a solid start and set up the team for a huge first-inning score.

Unfortunately, he did not get much support from the other end, and a score that once looked to go beyond the 200 run mark was restricted to 175-7.

The Zimbabwe opener smashed 12 fours in his innings, but did not hit a single six, thus making him the player with the highest T20I score without a six during his innings among full members. The record was held by Faf du Plessis, who scored 79* against Bangladesh in 2015.
