Man United could add £108m player to Ruben Amorim's squad with statement transferManchester United are being linked with a summer move for Benjamin Sesko in their search for a new No.9.Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim. (Image: UEFA via Getty Images)RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko continues to be linked with a summer move to Manchester United.United are in desperate need of a reliable goalscorer up-front after netting just 44 goals in the top-flight last term, comfortably their lowest ever in the Premier League era. It's a problem they have to fix if Ruben Amorim is to enjoy any form of success in 2025/2026.United have been frustrated so far in their efforts to land a new striker this summer. Indeed, they missed out on a transfer for Liam Delap, who joined Chelsea, and have been linked with Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen; who look set to join Arsenal and Galatasaray, respectively. But there could still be an opportunity to sign Sesko. United are likely to have a better chance now of landing the Slovenian with most of their top-flight rivals now looking at other targets. The CIES Football Observatory - a research group which specialises in the statistical analysis of football - currently value Sesko at €107million-€124million (around £108million). It's an eye-watering amount, while United will have to sell some of their wantaway stars if they are to raise the funds for such a deal. The Manchester Evening News understands Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho have informed United they would like to leave the club this summer, and all four were left out of the club's pre-season tour of the United States.Article continues belowAttention is likely to turn to a deal for Sesko - or another new striker - once they raise more cash from sales.Newcastle are also said to be interested amid uncertainty over Alexander Isak's future, which could lead to an interesting decision for the forward. Does he join a club competing in the Champions League or one that holds greater historical appeal? It would sum up Newcastle's frustrating summer if Sesko chose a team that finished 15th last season ahead of them. And - yet - Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo's arrival at Old Trafford shows that United still hold some appeal. It would surprise no-one if Sesko followed suit.Get United transfer news and updates on WhatsApp!
