Syracuse flips touted OT Roseby Lubintus from Penn State

Blackwood (NJ) Timber Creek offensive tackle Roseby Lubintus tells Rivals he has flipped his commitment from Penn State to Syracuse.

The 6-foot-6, 350-pound Lubintus becomes commit No. 27 for head coach Fran Brown and the Orange in the 2026 class.

“I liked Syracuse from the beginning,” Lubinitus said. “It felt like the right option.”

Lubintus had been a verbal to the Nittany Lions since April.

“For me I feel like I rushed into it. I was searching more for a name than the right place. I was trying to find somewhere that looked the best and not feel the best.

“I realized Syracuse, Coach Fran, all the coaches there are the best place for me as a person, for football and the best overall.”

Lubintus ranks as the nation’s No. 57 offensive tackle. He looks forward to helping Brown and the Orange go to another level after winning 10 games this past season.

“Syracuse you can see it from the outside that they are rebuilding something,” Lubintus said. “We are getting more recruits. We are getting a whole bunch of studs whether you like it or not. I feel it’s going to be something great and I want to be part of it. I want to show what I can put out there. I don’t want to be another jersey number. I want people to know who I am.”

Brown never stopped recruiting Lubintus.

“He still took the time to FaceTime, text me, whenever and just keep it 100 with me,” Lubintus said. “When I told him Syracuse was going to be the better option, he did not hesitate, he said yes and he kept 100 the whole time.”

Boston College, Florida, Michigan State, Rutgers, Maryland and West Virginia were other programs that offered.
