Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd have made 'formal steps' to complete signing of 17-year-old wonderkid

Manchester United are already securing signings for the summer 2026 transfer window, with a second wonderkid now on the cards.

Ineos are not playing around anymore in terms of hoovering up as much top talent as possible, and now steps are being taken to sign one talented midfielder.

Manchester United began the wonderkid recruitment drive in 2024, and by next summer, there could be an entirely new influx of youngsters set to arrive.

Already, United have arranged to sign Cristian Orozco, with the deal costing just £750,000, which could be an absolute bargain if he can reach his potential.

United are convinced Orozco is a top-level talent, and he has impressive qualities that could lend themselves well to him settling into English football as the next Moises Caicedo.

Now, another young player is being considered.

Manchester United making formal steps to sign Mouhamed Dabo

Sir Jim Ratcliffe wanted United to sign wonderkids as part of the recruitment plan to bring in cheap youngsters who have the potential to either play for the first team or be sold on for profit.

Now, in a bid to continue this trend, United are making formal steps to sign Mouhamed Dabo, according to Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, after a successful trial.

“Manchester United also had on trial Mouhamed Dabo, a 17-year-old Senegal talent. They’re very happy with the talent of this player. Manchester United are working on the formal steps now to see if it’s going to be possible to complete all the formal steps of this deal.

“They’re very happy about Dabo as a talent. He could be the next addition to the Manchester United squad. There are some formal steps needed in order to get the green light about be able to proceed with this signing.”

Dabo has been at United training for a while, even being pictured at Old Trafford, and now the club has made the decision to try and complete his signing.

United also had Etienne Mendy on trial, although no decision has yet been taken on him.

What kind of a player is Mouhamed Dabo?

United are clearly looking to bring in excellent midfield talents, with Sekou Kone already at the club, and now Dabo looks set to be the latest.

As a midfielder, Dabo is the perfect defensive midfielder, with comparisons to N’Golo Kante for his work rate and tackling.

However, Dabo also excels on the ball, with excellent decision-making, ball carrying, and passing, which makes him a very strong midfielder who understands the game.

Dabo can dictate play from the number six role, playing more simple passes to his creative teammates.

Currently playing for Be Sport Academy in Senegal, United would be a huge change for the teenager, and therefore, he deserves patience.
