AFLW Club statement: Chelsea Randall

Adelaide will continue to take a cautious approach with former captain Chelsea Randall and her recovery from concussion-related symptoms.

Randall, who hasn’t played for a month, has been ruled out of the Club’s game against North Melbourne this Saturday in Melbourne.

While the 34-year-old is making progress, she is not yet consistently at a level where she can complete the required training loads.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said player health and wellbeing was always of paramount importance.

“Chelsea is making progress however as her recovery advances, there has been a need to reassess at times,” Harper said.

“Our people’s welfare is always at the forefront of our thinking and decision-making, and we stringently adhere to the AFL’s concussion protocols.

“While we are reluctant to put a definitive timeframe on her return to play, we remain positive that Chelsea can play a role for the team this season.”
