The Reds have been heavily linked with signing the 25-year-old this summer, with Isak's name being regularly mentioned on the rumour mill throughout the summer.It was at the start of August when Liverpool saw their £110million offer for Isak rejected by Newcastle. Since then, rumours have been swirling about where Isak could be playing his football next season, with the Reds still holding an interest in the player.Newcastle have been trying to sign a striker of their own after the departure of Callum Wilson. Brentford star Yoane Wissa is reportedly a target for the Magpies and reports emerged on Wednesday claiming that a £40million offer had been rejected by the Bees.Now a fresh update has emerged in Newcastle's pursuit of a striker which could give Liverpool encouragement of a deal for Isak further down the line.According to the Express & Star, Newcastle are "pushing" to sign Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. It has been claimed that the Molineux outfit would need to receive a bid worth £60million before considering letting the Norway international leave the club.It has been claimed, though, that Newcastle are determined to sign Strand Larsen in their search for a new striker. Whether the Magpies view the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for Isak, though, remains to be seen.Wolves are said to be determined to keep Strand Larsen at the club, but it remains to be seen if they will accept an offer from Newcastle should one arrive. It's also uncertain if a move for Strand Larsen would have a direct effect on Isak's future and a potential move to Liverpool.The Reds have until September 1 to complete their transfer business for the summer.
